Rebecca Krupke is a seventh generation "Mainer". In 2002 she received her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Maine with a double degree in Studio Art and Art History both magna cum laude.

Rebecca spent many summer days amongst unfinished canvasses and drawings of her grandfather's, Edward Bailey, who also studied art at Portland School of Art. Seeing the joy on her grandfather’s face as he spoke of his days in art school planted a seed in Rebecca’s heart to carry on where her grandfather left off. After his death in 1995, Rebecca started creating work full time. Her artwork embodies a feeling of rebirth in content and emotion.

Rebecca has shown in over twenty International/National Juried Exhibitions throughout the United States as well as Canada and Ireland. Her artwork has been published in "Words & Images", a book filled with artwork and poetry published in Portland, Maine.

In 2003 she received a grant from the Printmakers Council to be an artist-in-residence and spent six months in Prince Edward Island, producing a concentrated body of prints, paintings and drawings based on her experience.

Her work concentrates on a moment in time. Dramatic control of light sets a mood in the viewer. She often concentrates on homes as they represent an extension of the family …in the function of protection and childhood memories.
