Doretta Groenendyk

Doretta’s love for stories is evident in the style of her art, playful, luminous, narrative and lyrical. Settled with her family in the Annapolis Valley, Doretta, a NSCAD graduate, delights in the colours, lines, and stories around her. The ideas float in, pictures dance, and colours sparkle. Tilted compositions, layered colour, and a fresh drawing style create this whimsical work. Often Doretta’s acrylic images inspire a memory , a sense of glee, an enchanted moment, or a hope in possibility. Doretta is the author/illustrator of over 10 children's picture books. She accepts commissions and has been the recipient of several grants from the NS Arts program. She has exhibited with Details for over a decade.
