Rosamond Bechtel
Born in Montreal and raised in the Maritimes, Roz is happiest and most grounded in places where there is a shoreline, and this becomes readily visible in her oil landscapes.
Her education in corporate design, illustration, and fine art enables Roz to identify a setting and then capture the parameters of a painting, which she develops further in the studio.
She studies the continuous change of sky, water, and shoreline, mostly on the Atlantic coast; the resulting artwork has found its way into galleries, homes, and offices across Canada and abroad.
Roz maintains that having an original painting is like having a new friend, and she is delighted to share her view of the world with others who appreciate the changing beauty of life on the water, which in itself is a living element.
