Rosamond Bechtel
Born in Montreal, raised in the Maritimes, Roz is happiest and most grounded in places that have a shoreline; this comes out regularly in her oil landscapes.
Her education in corporate design, illustration and fine art enable Roz to capture the setting for a painting, further developed at her own pace in her Kingston and PEI studios.
She studies the continuous change of sky, water and shoreline, mostly on the Atlantic coast, inspiring paintings that have found their way into galleries, homes and offices in Ontario, B.C., Quebec, her beloved Nova Scotia and PEI, and far away.
Roz maintains that having a new original painting is like having a new friend, and is delighted to share her view of the world with others who appreciate the changing beauty of life by the water, which in itself is a living element.
